i figured id introduce myself to the forum so people might have an idea of who they are talking to

i live in connecticut(usa) im 19 years old, i like to train in martial arts and NHB tournaments are a big part of that(though ive never competed, yet), and i play sports and such alot..

usually when im not physically active im with my friends or reading..i like to study world religions, eastern and western philosophy, traditional chinese martial arts, qi gong theory, traditional chinese medicine, world history, mythology etc etc

at the moment besides what i listed above i dont do much, im actually kinda a bum so i have alot of free time..i still live at home(its sad) and basically i spend most days wondering what i wanna do with this life, and besides my dedication to my art i really dont have any idea how i wanna make a living, everyone keeps goading me into going into the military, but i dont know, physically i know i could get into any branch, mentally itd be a cakewalk, emotionally im not so sure i could take 3-4 years of yes sir no sir..im not an authority case or anything i just dunno, theres something about the commitment and the fact that thats 3-4 years of my youth were talkin about..

umm, im a member of several discussion forums, some are fond of me, most are ive made good contacts over the years, but my brashness and arrogance can sometimes piss people off, though i really dont see any of those qualitys coming out on this forum considering the general atmosphere, i do have a tendency to speak my mind and to be blunt(just like i do in the world outside)

umm besides that i generally just look forward to having some good convos and more likely then not growing and changeing for the better from what i experience here

oh and for anyone that cares i was raised a christian since i was about 8 years old, im very fond of the religion even though i do not practice it

Hi Zazen - and may I extend a warm formal welcome to CR.

As for indecision - I know exactly what you mean. To which I can only suggest you listen within and not to those who would shape your direction accroding to their own wishes, rather than your own. Had no idea what I *really* wanted to do until I reached my early 20's. Until then I just tried to have fun and built up some important life experiences.

well, i mean i know what i want to do with my life(perfecting my art and practicing chan) but i still need a job and really though as most people know, your job can become your life because of the immense time it takes up, so im basically stuck dumbstruck without any idea of how to go about doing anything major(like moving out of the house for one)

but i have been doing what you said, hopefully ill come to a conclusion as you and other people do..i also have a feeling that i want to do something useful in my work, not just something to support me, id like to do something meaningful..whatever that means

I think I can like you. Only avoid strong harsh unkind and uncalled for words against me, keep to ideas and keep cool. Also avoid words associated with the functions of the lower groin apertures.

I'm still trying to figure what I want to do with my life (after I finish taking all the college courses I'm thinking of taking, which will probably be in about twenty years.) Yep, I'm what some people call "a professional student". But it runs in the family (I had a cousin who had 8 Ph.Ds and an MD before he called it quits on his college education.)
