I like to make the following request

Would it be possible to add a new subsection on Unificationism in the new religions section ?

Being an unificationist myself, it is often difficult to post quotes from the Divine Principle or any of our other sacred texts in the christianity section.

I have been very busy during the last two months and I was not able to post or follow many of the threads.

I expect my schedule to be lighter soon. I would be very inspired to see a section on Unificationism.

This new religion has expanded over 180 countries during the lifetime of its founder, the Rev Sun Myung Moon. That is quite rare in the history of religions.

Please let me know if is possible.

Have a great Thanksgiving

Thank you for

Soleil, could you please respond to the allegations presented in this wiki article about Unification, specifically: "that of being a cult, irregularies in use of monies, allegations of fraud, allegations of brainwashing, children conceived out of wedlock, and accusations of anti-semitisim" :

Avi: No need to - this is an interfaith board - there isn't a single religion I can immediately think of that cannot be accused of various contentious or reprehensible practices, associations, or beliefs.

Unless I'm advised that any particular belief system is illegal in the UK at least, everyone get's treated equally at the door - after all, it's not what people believe that I care about here, as much as how people behave.

soliel10: the normal process I use is that if there are a significant number of threads about a particular faith, then I'll look to see whether that implies both an interest and need to set up a board specifically for that faith. Generally the aim is to provide as broad areas as possible. I've experimented with niche interest ones in the past, but as can be seen under the Modern Religions section where this has been specifically applied, it's not really resulted in particular interest or activity, so I'm inclined to think that strategy has not been very success so far.

In the meantime, though, I'll be happy to keep an eye out and keep watching the situation to see whether any further changes may be required in future.

I took a look at wikipedia, there is a lot of stuff there, some is accurate and some is absolutely not. At wikipedia, anybody can post. Unless Avi is specific, it will take forever to respond. Anyway,Brian I agree with you. On an interfaith forum, it is good to be open. We should remember that early Christians were accused of so many terrible things.

I understand the point you are making. That strategy would work if at least someone belonging to that religion would take the time to generate activity and traffic with interesting posts. I know I can do that.

Since Unificationist roots are from Judeo Christianity, there is a commun base with many members here, I believe.

Would you be open to try it for 6 months and give it a chance ?
