    The Gallery...

Hey, Satan. It's a dragon of sorts. I haven't given much thought to what exactly kind of dragon it might be, but it is rasta-colored and it breathes out a baby blue cloud of puffy smoke poofs that says "Become What You Are," so I think it might be a hippie. :D

Sweet setup here on your personal page, too, btw. Mine looks like vomit compared to this. I'll have to cutesy mine up a little. Let me put that on my non-existent to-do list. I really should start keeping one of those, and not just in my head.

Seattlegal, I never did see the Giant Palouse Earthworm during my time in that area. I've moved now, so chances that I'll see one around here (in the mountains of Virginia) are slim. ;)

    Possibilians

Anyone else come across this yet? I find it refreshing: RNS Feature: "For `Possibilians,’ afterlife is one big possibility" “It’s not being an agnostic, which I find to be a weak term,” explained Eagleman, 38, a professor at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. “Agnosticism is not knowing...

Subject change: Art I don't have an artistic bone in my body, I can barely draw a stick figure, but I like functional art such as hand-crafted chairs and salt n pepper shakers, clothes, decorative mirrors, that sort o' thing. There's a guy in DC who build mootrcycles from scrap iron. 'Tis...

Subject Change: Space Aliens (as Wil) Let's see, the universe is immense full of galaxy clusters in which there are hundreds or is it thousands of galaxies, in which there are innumerable solar systems... yes I think it likely that space aliens exist, highly likely that they are more...

re: The person above me is of the opinion that..." (as Dream) I used to watch Survivor, but I don't really like reality TV shows anymore. I prefer surreality to tv, although I suppose that we could combine the two together, and that would be pretty kosher. Perhaps we could graft Donald Trump...

What Movies Have You Seen Recently?

Drag Me to Hell was definitely worth nine bucks, which is a lot. It's as funny as it is scary; the horrific becomes hilarious several times over. I especially like that the elderly gypsy, Mrs. Ganush, the villain of the story, has dentures that seem to have been custom-made to look decayed. Nice...

    Gay penguins

Yes, here's another couple of penguins, Roy and Silo, that have gotten media attention. I their case, it came in the form of a children's book: And Tango Makes Three: The Story of America's Most Beloved Gay Penguin Family - Daddy Types

    Russell Means on "Paradigm Shift"

Max Dashu refers to Marija Gimbutas, among others. Here's an older post of mine from another thread on prehistory and the goddess that may be relevant to the current discussion: http://www.interfaith.org/forum/prehistoric-goddess-worship-365-4.html#post141308

    Russell Means on "Paradigm Shift"

Some very relevant text there. Dashu's review: A Critique of Cynthia Eller's The Myth of Matriarchal Prehistory: Why an Invented Past Won't Give Women a Future, should be objectively read by those who seem to believe that "matriarchy" must be "patriarchy in reverse," as Dashu puts it. (emphasis...

It may respond to market conditions, but that is not the same as providing a demonstrable benefit in a peaceful manner. [/I]

    Russell Means on "Paradigm Shift"

What I mean to say is that I am interested in a diversity of ideas that provide alternatives to the global system. I don't think a hegemonic system of any kind is a viable answer, and I don't pretend or claim to have a magical hegemonic solution to replace the horrid "global marketplace." Yes...

    Russell Means on "Paradigm Shift"

The same could be said for the current system in place. When we hold global capitalism up to these same standards, what happens? Is there a demonstrable benefit for the majority of the world population of "7 billion unique human beings and counting" brought by global corporate capitalism...
