    Questions

I understood a priest in the order of Melchizedek to mean a person who performs a dual role of Priest AND King. Both Jesus and Melchizedek were/are believed to be BOTH a Priest and a King, whereas throughout Israelite history the Priest and the King have been from different tribes.

    Questions

If it's a Jehovah's Witness perspective you're after, I can attempt to offer it on their behalf... The Father (Jehovah/Yahweh) created The Son (Jesus) as his first act of creation i.e. Jesus was the fistborn of all creation. This is when Jesus became "a" god, or demiurge would probably be...

What are the Differences between the Abrahamic Faiths?

You're right, it all comes down to the meaning of the word... In Hebrew Moshiach (sp?) literally means anointed (by God), hence David was also a Moshiach, I believe. Then transliterated into Greek Messiah (only twice) the word retains the meaning of "anointed" (by God) but is also believed...

What are the Differences between the Abrahamic Faiths?

I'm going to keep it simple ;) The difference is Jesus... One group rejects him completely One group accepts him as the Messiah and their God One group accepts him as the Messiah and a great Prophet. .

1914 ....A significant year in bible prophecy

They didn't prophecise such a thing, in fact Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe any of their members to be prophets... They simply interpret "existing" Bible prophecies to demonstrate that Jesus was given the kingdon in 1914, which was physically unseen but recognised by the signs of the times...

What is the Meaning of Life?

I personally think the question is flawed. Like asking "what does the colour red taste like?" I think the question should be "what is the purpose of life?"

What are the Criteria of true Prophets/Messengers of God?

Bananabrain In arabic/Islam Nabee means prophet and Rasool means Messenger. Not all Nabees are Rasools, but some are. I think in Islamic tradition there were 120,000 Nabees but only 25 of them were Rasools. Inhumility As I understand it, there is a criteria for determining true prophets in...

    Jehovah's Witnesses

I "could" say that this is obviously libel... Matthew 7:20 comes to mind... James 2:26 comes to mind... I "could" say these people go through persecution to stay in their religion, as evidenced by this thread... Do you suffer persecution in being a Christian? Do Christians in...

    Jehovah's Witnesses

If it where so obvious, as you claim, don't you think that many sincere Witnesses would be ready to admit that? Saying that they are obviously wrong is tantamount to accusing them of knowingly spreading a falsehood.

    Is This A Qur'anic Contradiction?

So what you're trying to say is that Allah's she-camel in Salih's story (7:73) is exactly the type of camel that Allah did not institute (5:103)? I must admit that this is really quite interesting and I hadn't come across it before now... would like to reserve my vote until I know a little...

    Is Islam actually peaceful?

It's ironic that Europe "received" enlightenment from Islam, when it was Islam that arguably helped plunge Europe into the dark ages in the first place by weakening the Roman Empire and taking over its territories. Rome's centres of excellence were "taken" by Islam e.g. Alexandria, so WE...

    Is Islam actually peaceful?

I don't know why Islam is being marketed as the "religion of peace", when first and foremost Islam is the religion of submission, submission to God - peace is what the individual gains from submitting to God, and not necessarily the right of every individual on the planet. If a person genuinely...

What's wrong with the Jewish God?

I have no problem with the way Judaism can apply itself and develop over time, and I appreciate the Judaism allows for change over the millenia. In theory, this is the difference between Islam and Judaism, Islam isn't supposed to change over time. In theory Shariah law (when applied correctly)...

What's wrong with the Jewish God?

I wouldn't know, perhaps the Muslims who actually make the allegations might have some examples to offer. In Islam a legal code is supposed to have divine approval, and as such wouldn't be treated differently from a commandment. In Islam Sharia is supposed to be traceable back to the...

What's wrong with the Jewish God?

Dondi, in Islam many things constitute an act of worship. Brushing your teeth, if done in a certain manner and with the correct supplications, can be seen as an act of worship. Having intercourse, if preceeded and finished with the correct supplications, can also be seen as an act of worship...

What's wrong with the Jewish God?

Fair comment, but like I said it is "a" Muslim viewpoint, not necessarily shared by ALL Muslims (including myself). There is a general trend in Islam for people not to understand the functional distinction between a Prophet (Moses), a King (David), a Sage (Enoch), a Faithful Servant (Abraham)...

What's wrong with the Jewish God?

There is a Muslim viewpoint that the Jewish nation have attached too much importance to the traditions of men i.e. laws/customs taught by Rabbis but not necessarily found in the Tanach. Muslims who see it this way would say that the Rabbis have been made into gods alongside God. I don't know...
