Is Taoism a Religion or a Philosophy?

I am a philosophical Taoist. I have less-than-zero interest in religious Taoism as I find ALLl religions quite silly with their plethora of invisible sky people and silly clothing requirements (think yarmulkes for Jews and magic undergarments for Mormons), as well as a list of food prohibitions and scads of mere social mores. Mythology + Superstition X Credulity = Religion. Check out the Derek Lin channel on YouTube for excellent instruction in the spiritual philosophy of Taoism.

I would note that the word “yarmulke” is a Yiddish word and is not the prevalent term among Sephardic Jews. kippah/Kippot (pl) is a better chooce. Furthermore, a kippah is not mandatory as the head covering of choice. A baseball cap or other hat would satisfy the requirement.

I have no inclination to argue over your feelings about religion. Suffice it to say that I do not concur and so we’ll just have to agree to disagree.
