what major arcana are you?

You Scored as III - The Empress The Empress is a maternal symbol. She is the mother figure who loves, nurtures and protects. She will protect you, she will always be there when you are in trouble. When you fall over and graze your knee, the Empress will kiss it better. Yet she is not a weak figure. Her compassion is strength. If her children are threatened she will stop at nothing to protect them. If well aspected in a Tarot spread, the Empress can symbolise security, protection and unconditional love. If badly aspected it can represent over-protectiveness, fear of risk taking and refusal to face the real world.

Both Poo and SG as empresses?

Who'da thunk it? Well most of us here I'd guess. Poo not a mother figure?? Seems you've been tryng to lead folks to a path of understanding for a while. And SG, our queen of research and finding the needle in a haystack, knows exactly where everything is... Seems about right to me.

Kewl... as the tie-breaking question said, "What doesn't kill me makes me stronger."

You Scored as XVI: The Tower

If badly aspected this can be the worst card of the Tarot deck. The Tower always indicates upheavel, possibly chaos, loss and destruction. Its effects are never pleasant and can be painful. The card illustrates lightning striking the Tower. The lightning cannot be avoided, the destruction it brings is inevitable. All we can do is attempt to survive and rebuild. The Tower brings sudden, severe change. When the Tower appears in a Tarot spread it represents sudden and possibly violent change, disruption or loss.

strength/lustre, leo [courage, heart]; tower, mars [rules aries, head, eye of horus] both spiritual fire [as is of course the 3rd sun, which rules leo and is exalted in aries]

'tower is the principle of restoration renovation and destructuring old forms, a symbol of the change and awakening that is required to dismantle that which is artificial or conditioned within our natures' [and which could obviously burn off!]. [a.arrien]

I'm Libra, Cap. rising. Typical dithering Libra!

Let me just throw out this quote and see if anyone wants to nibble:

not nibbling death but the sun in libra is ruled by venus [netzach no.7] and its domicile is the 7th house in astrology [relationships or the other, justice or adjustment in the tarot]

found a great exploration

too true, am really not surprised either about the high % of high priestesses, or intuitive knowledge oozing outa here, or the self actualizing suns!

Capricorn Sun, Leo rising, Uranus/Pluto-Mars/Moon stellium in Virgo. (Uranus/Pluto conjunct, Mars/Moon conjunct, total orb of stellium is < 10°)

Oh, and Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius. :p

but wheres your venus [netzach] earth mother:D

Unaspected, in 5th house Saggitarius. (Nothing interesting to see here, folks.)

so you think [mercury/hod] and love/relate [venus/netzach] sagittarian style rather than capricornian [helped by being ruled by your rising sign's planet, the sun who rules the 5th house]; so as much fire as earth going on. In addition above netzach is chesed [jupiter, providence which rules sagitarrius] in the active pillar of mercy of force, so connections again, as ever.

You Scored as VIII - Strength

Strength is not just physical strength, it also means emotional and spiritual strength. It is the Strength to do what you know is right in the face of opposition. Strength to defy convention and authority. Strength does not have to be used directly. It can be inner strength that supports one in the face of attacks on what they hold dear. The person of Strength remains true to their beliefs. In a Tarot reading, this card can indicate overcoming of obstacles and refusal to be beaten down. If badly aspected this card can indicate loss of faith, failure of Will.

Grrrrr..... hang on while I finish wrestling this lion...

Lol, that's kinda funny seing as I'm not a mom. But that's dead on nonetheless because of my little brother and sis. Neat! Refusal to face the real world, lol, yup that bout sums it up! :p

The Mage and the Fool are the same. One departs the Fool with nothing to barter save one's eager willingness to get on with the adventure. One returns the Mage having comprehended the mobius-like (spiral) nature of things. It's a kind of apprenticeship program.

Chris

The trouble is, the Mage may think he understands, but the fool knows understanding is an illusion.

There is an old saying "The fool who thinks he is a wise man demonstrates folly, but the fool who knows he is a fool demonstrates wisdom".

The mage think he knows, but it's all smoke and mirrors. :)

Related cards indeed, though, but the fool trumps the deck. The joker is always wild. :)

from colin low's preface to the pdf wil posted

“Ten sephirot of nothingness: Their measure
is ten which have no end. A depth of
beginning, a depth of end ...”

haven't gotten round to reading it but l read somewhere else that the sephiroth spheres are states of being and the paths are states of becoming;
I came across an interesting jungian/buddhist article on the archetypes and emptiness which might interest some .

Quite true. But the Fool must descend. Down into the soup of potential structure, down into the muck of meaning, to be digested and extruded once again at the far end of the process.

Chris

Chris, you funny man. That is seriously funny. There 'at the far end of the process' is the mage; only the journey was butt an illusion.
