You have brought up a fascinating point. Whenever an organization is run by human beings (which means all organizations), there will always be various leaders who disagree with each other and contradict each other. The beauty is that Theosophy has a built-in mechanism that allows for these kinds of things. No one Theosophist has the right to tell another Theosophist what to believe (beyond the Three Objects). There has never been a Theosophical Pope, nor will there be in the future. It is not a perfect system, but in my humble opinion, it works better than anything else I have seen.
