As some of you may know, I'm pretty convinced that very young children often have a natural psychic awareness that in most cases fades with age. So, I can easily entertain the notion that not all of what they claim to see that adults do not is necessarily "only in their imagination." A colleague-yeah another therapist:p-recently told me an interesting true tale of her own now 25 y.o. son. When he was 3 he was in their driveway playing and unseen by a family member who began to back a car out of that drive-one of those often tragic tales. Car went over him but he was unhurt. When mom gathered him up he asked her what happened to the man that was under the car with him.;) earl

Life still has its mysteries doesn't it.
The biology and physics of life is in its own way mysterious. But, well beyond those levels I do think reality is far more mysterious than we can know.:) earl

Though I'm not a country music fan, there is some song I heard about a little girl who lived in a home plagued by domestic violence, and witnessed the death of her parents. In the song, after she was later adopted to another family and in Sunday school, she remarked that Jesus was with her as she hid during the violence.

There was something about the song that always made me feel quite emotional. Even if it were our own mind that has the capacity to generate such comfort, strength, and calm in the midst of the storms we face... that is still quite an amazing gift and psychic ability.

I tend to think it is more reasonable that there really are disincarnate beings from various realms or planes that assist us in our time of need. Whether we hold the capacity to create them, or the capacity to perceive them... it's pretty amazing.

My kids were young like two or three, they were riding in their little carseats in the back of the van. I'm driving into Baltimore to go juggling. For some reason I turned off the beltway and started driving to a place we hadn't met at in a couple of years. Now my kids hadn't been to this place but a couple of times in their lives and never together until this trip. But as I was driving thru downtown they both started talking and telling me I was going the wrong way... It dawned on me I was....and that I had no idea how to get from where I was to where I wanted to be in any easy fashion. As 'luck' had it we pulled upto a red light I got out the map, found a street that went out of downtown on an angle to exactly where I wanted to go, looked up and saw I was stopped at that very street. I turned on my signal, did the old 'let me over wave' and took the left...

When I got to the meeting folks were surprised to see me and the kids. As the beltway was shut down due to a truck rollover...and the back up went for miles.

As I see it...the universe got me to turn by giving me a familiar route and I didn't even know I was doing anything out of the ordinary. But I was to deaf to listen to the guidance that I was now going the wrong way and needed a correction....but my kids they heard...and in a timely fashion.

Folks may say hokum...but do we care?

Yeah, Wil, do think the little ones can pick up all sorts of stuff that we adults seem unable to. Kim, as to the tale I posted, while of course this side of the "veil" we see dimly and can be sure of little, I tend to hypothesize too that whoever/whatever that little one had interacted with was a "being" of "another realm," as did his mother who simply prosaically referred to him as his guardian angel. earl
