Hello,

Are there any members of this forum involved with the Interfaith New Seminary?

I heard about the New Seminary a while back from someone who was actually an Interfaith Minister of the seminary. Apparently it was started by an American Jew (who may have also been a Rabbi) and is spreading across the world.

I have been to a few Interfaith Services and I thought that they were fantastic. A wonderful religious combination of the worlds faiths.

Every religion was celebrated. "All paths lead to the same source" type of philosophy.

Yes I think that is the organisation I was thinking of. I can't imagine that there would be two organisations with similar names at work.

So I gather that this "New Seminary" has nothing to do with this forum? Did Brian start this forum? Are the principles behind the New Seminary and this forum similar?

Sorry, lots of questions, lol. I'm just curious about Interfaith and what it stands for and where it is going.
 
Seperate entities....New Seminary...Yogaville....this site....

There are a lot of intefaith organizations around the world. Some are focused on Peace...I ran into a school in New England that had students from all over the Middle East, a high school, they were playing soccer at a beach. While they went to school they learned about each others culture and each other as individuals....four years establishing friendships and hopefully continuing relationships as they go back home to tell others what they learned....that we all aren't that far apart.

Interfaith to me is an exploratoin and respect for others religions, not an opportunity to convert. (which it is to some).

To some places and some people it is a religion itself. Bahai is a religion that seeks to unite all religions within itself, as is the Unification Church.

I,Brian, the site founder, isn't affiliated with any other religious or political organization and participates in this forum pretty often so you can talk to him directly when you fancy!

the site is based, as much as virtual things are at any rate, in the U.K. though we have, clearly, members from a wide variety of countries and cultures.

thank you very much for the link to the seminary! i'm always keen to explore such institutions and see their take on the practical side of living in a pluralistic religious society.
