no that is ok. I agree it is NOT props but intention that makes the spell work. As an example I gave before if you look at the show Charmed most of the time (if not all) they just read from the book of shadows and their spell came true. So these so called people that tell you your spell will not work unless you light a candle, use thread, etc do not know what they speak of.

Agreed. I'm curious if you have some sort of system that categorizes the innate meaning of the objects you are using, or how you arrived at the decision to use the images you're using for specific spells. You mentioned the Book of Shadows, but that reference doesn't really go in-depth with the archetypal processes it ties into. The systematic approach others use is always interesting to me.

ChinaCatSunflower. To me it is humans that decided you must use real candles, real gems in order for it to work, not God. So there is absolutely no way to prove using real anything works. That is the belief in the spell that makes it happen, not lighting a candle and seeing the smoke go out to the world/room. What I mean is the spell is in the book of shadows and one recites the spells which means it is not taking effect not the prop. Prop is just to set the mood for individual doing the spell. NOW IF GOD came down and said "YOU MUST USE REAL PROPS" believe me I would. But it is only humans saying you must. Humans not Gods

I think I'm just asking what sort of criteria you use to decide what sort of imagery to use. Have you studied any systems or is it more of an innate and personal sense of what sort of imagery, poems, etc. is appropriate to what you're trying to achieve?

No I never studied anything. I just look up what things mean an go from there. And I create the words to the spell and then after I create the words I then determine what clip art would be perfect in the spell.
