Has any one on here ever modified someone elses spell? In other words, someone gives you a spell to use but you dont quite like the entire spell so you modify it to use it the way you want.

And if you did how much did you modify the given spell to suite your needs? And did it work?

I think you'll find that most experienced magickal practitioners rarely repeat other people's spells exactly as written. Spells that are created to work with your personal symbolism will have a better chance of working than spells using someone else's symbolism.

Before you leap into changing things though you should have a solid understanding of what the spell is about, how it's constructed, and why it's constructed that way. Just like musicians study other people's music and get firm fundamentals before they start improvising.
