Perhaps it's what's got some of us puzzled, Thomas:And, of course, the simple fact is no-one will or can recognise God, unless God wills it, so the ball is not really in our court at all.
God bless,
Thomas
Why's he being mean to you like that?
Besides, however, Buddhism isn't about creating another useless dump of human wealth - you know, gold candlesticks and all, nice pretty robes for all the poofed-up poobahs. Rather, the idea is simplicity, and this is something which will utterly fail to reach your logical MIND. Indeed, it just can't yet register with you that Christ taught us we take out of this world only what we bring. The Buddhists, on the other hand, KNOW IT already, thus they live with little ... their work focusing on the human SPIRIT. Thus do they leave with the Gift of helping others draw near it.
True, I realize in your dearth of Eastern knowledge what you really haven't grasped is why anyone who might be able to exercise power over others [a futile goal toward which you no-less-persistently strive to excel, as DEMONstrated via your constant put-downs, insisting to us that WE know not the Christ or God of THEE] ... would not, except via the instrument of the HEART. And that, the reason WHY, is what the Buddha Taught.
He wasn't here to give you just the ammunition you needed to come along, 2500 years later, and GLORIFY YOUR EGO by winning arguments among your often less-studied peers on an INTERFAITH discussion board ...
... but then, if you whittle away what's not appealing about your power-plays, and peel back the layers between the non-understanding aspects of your personal mind ~ and the simple, ROCK-solid Truth of the all-Inclusive Grand DESIGN ~ I think what you (and like-minded others) shall eventually, inevitably and THANK GOD one day find: is that in fact, God can easily reach those who, however educated, remain SIMPLE, Peaceful and KIND.
How will we recognize God, when we have been in God's Presence so oft before?
The same way you know WHAT TO DO when you come upon an OPEN DOOR.
By the way, I write pretty crappy poetry quite intentionally - well, not the crappy part;
But I find that a simple rhyme's enough to CHECK THE MIND and use the HEART. Try it!
