Ah the old conundrum. One of my favorites actually. The answer is - it depends on how you define the word "sound". One of the most common forms of the definition is that sound is a wavelength that is heard by the human ear.
By that definition, the aforementioned tree makes no sound, because there is no human there to hear it.

In reality, you say either way. I'd still like to think if a Tree falled down it would make a sound... Might just be me wishful thinkin.

I would argue that sound is that which is (potentially) perceived and not the act of perception.

It would make, the same sound as it would make, were someone present.

hmm.. my opinion is -- It does not matter.
It will make sound but it does not matter if no one is around.
It would be like: a teacher kept on teaching, but nobody attended the lecture.
That's my viewpoint.
It would make a vibration....
the interpretation of the vibration is when it hits an ear drum, and then the eardrum sends a series of electronic pulses, and a portion of our brain interprets that as a sound...
pretty clear without all of the latter happening...there is no sound...only a vibration traveling through the air and ground..

That's right - There are verberations that cause other things around the fallen tree to be affected by the fallen tree.
verberations cause other things to reverberate with sound waves affecting everything within the radius of the waves that are travelled.
Bugs, grass, flowers and many, many things such as other leaves on other trees and leaves on the fallen tree are shaken and they themselves give off verberations that affect other smaller things.
I, of course, know that there is a sound emitted even if there is no one there to hear and interpret the sound as sound.
But these verberations are waves that affect many other things
