Am I right to understand that your alias means "companion of God" and the notion comes from Christianity of Celtic tradition? (of which I have little knowledge...)

I think it's a great alias reflecting your own spirituality and originality...

Thanks for the welcomes. Yes you are correct about Céile Dé. I do follow Celtic Christianity. I guess my ancestry comes from that area and felt drawn to it. I was raised in an Assembly of God way of worship and while in the military rebelled against God and turned to Paganism, specifically Druidry. I was involved with this for about 10 years before I gave my life back over to Christ. My Church is nature and I don't need a special time to pray per say. One thing that I have learned through the Celtic Tradition is God wants us to interact with Him anytime. I will be doing chores around the house and talk away with Him. He is in everything I do. In Nature I feel the closest to Him though. Guess it is just a preference.

It's always great to hear about each person's spiritual journey... people who come to this forum tend to have taken a unique path (which is a good thing in my book!)

I'm totally with you about talking away with God. I think every time we tell Him how we feel is just as connecting to Him as when we pray. I talk to Him in my head almost all day... I wonder if He is sometimes thinking "Oh, kid, can you be quiet for a sec?" lol...

Though my mother is agnostic, she worships Nature (she's a serious hiker), tells the sun and the sky about how grateful she is for everything... I kind of feel she and I are worshiping the same thing, but she just doesn't call it God.

But it did make me wonder ... d'you think God ever sits back and muses, 'everyone prays at me, but no-one talks to me ...'

Of course, we talk to God, all the time. My tradition, like any other, is full of such stories. There's a story of St Teresa of Avila — someone who knows something about the life of prayer — that when she was on the road to set up her new convent, the wheel came off the cart. She looked up to heaven and said, with some exasperation, "If this is your idea of a joke... "

Begs the question: what's the difference between 'talk' and 'prayer' :roll eyes:

I'm with yourself and Lance. The Celtic tradition, as he says, is one of constant dialogue with the Divine. The Book of Nature is one with the Book of the Word.

Ah... my parents' most frequently used term...
(well, of course they say it in Japanese, which is "namaiki!")

Even saints can express an exasperation to Him? I'm not surprised... I think no true relationship will be built without ever showing one's honest raw emotion...

I've had very heated arguments with all my best friends (and sometimes getting mad at them, or them getting mad at me) one time or another come to think of it...

That's right! He 'demanded' that God bless him and it worked!! Perhaps, I should dare God too... but in my case, “I will not let you go whether you bless me or not!”
