Aussie Thoughts
Just my 2 cents
One of our Daimlers broke down when visiting a petrol-head friend – he had a Gordon-Keeble among others, and he lent us an old Spitfire he'd picked up somewhere to get us home while he sorted the repairs to our car. He told me if it broke, just throw it away ... what fun it was! I can't imagine what one would be like with a V8.
The Spitfire we've been talking about was my first car. Bought it secondhand back in 1978. The whole conversion came about only because my dad was planning to put a Toyota diesel in the Range Rover. Nothing wrong with the petrol motor, but diesel is a lot more economical on the farm. My car had a blown motor, never give a college kid keys to a sports, and the Rover's motor looked like it might fit. I'm not really a gear head though. NJ's actually the car guy here. See Post #34.
