Miracles and Prayers... what's your take?

I actually consider it a sin to pray for victory in a competition. To pray that your team wins the football game, or to pray that you get a job that several people want, is asking God to pick favorites.
I don't know that I'd call it a sin, but I hate that too. Boogles the mind where some people's priorities are.:(

The term, 'Laws of Nature' is merely a way for man to define the parameters set forth by God for life to exist. As the creator however, God falls well outside the boundaries of these parameters and is not governed by them. Therefore, there would be no need to alter them in order to facilitate a miracle.
Bravo!

Oh, my message needs to be ten characters longer ... er ... Bravo!

I'm with you that we should not pray in order to ask God for material favors. God doesn't play favorites and rightfully so. We often hope God to be 'on our side', but instead, we should hope that we are 'on His side'.

Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God's side, for God is always right ~ Abraham Lincoln
