I know you do not think the Old Testament is the word of God, but some people do.

I've removed the last few posts, which can be summed up as:
"I know better than you"
"Oh, no you don't"
Which is the sort of exchange which is irrelevant and pointless. I would have hoped a forum like this might be a useful place for others to share their ideas - rather than focusing on criticising others for the sake of it.
After all, every single one of us will disagree with every single other person on this forum about some significant aspect of faith.
That's one of the reasons why I miss some of our Jewish members - modern Judaism is full of very strong differences, not least reform and Orthodox - yet such differences are recognised as parts of a whole faith, rather than in opposition.
It would be better to see more of that approach here.
