Where are my sent PMs?

I've received 3 private messages and responded to all of them. Now it seems that there is no record of the my replies. I expected to find them under "Sent" but they are not there. What am I doing wrong?

They aren't saved by default, you have to check the option under settings.
"Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default"

1. User CP
2. Settings and Options
3. Edit Options
4. Click on Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default
