The cosmologist George Lemaitre who elaborated the theory of the big bang was a Catholic priest in 1922.

The idea of an eternal universe renders the concept of Causality inoperable.

Yea. Perhaps because the cosmologists found too humiliating to bring it up from the same source themselves. Lemaitre was a cosmologist praised by almost all cosmologists for his discovery that the universe had begun with the big bang.

Lemaitre's revelation of the origin of the universe with the big bang was in 1922. I don't think Einstein was a scientist by then to be extrapolated by him. That was in my opinion Lemaitre's vindication of the Bible about the beginning of the universe.
 
Shib, if you will read a little bit of history you will find that Lemaitre did indeed create the idea in 1922. When Einstein came along, Lemaitre also used a lot of Einstein's theories as evidence to support his big bang theory.

Lematire was a priest by profession AND a physicist by choice. He, at least, understood which side of himself to bring forward depending on what he was doing. Priest for religion. Scientist for science.

Oh! I am aware of that! The irony though is that a theist had to be of all people the one to bring such an astounding contribution to Science, although in his mind, I am sure, his intention was to bring the Bible into the stage of modern world as the source of the theory about the beginning of the universe.

One needs to be able to define God. Is She/He/It the omnipotent omnipresent being ancient religions created trying to explain the world. Does God evolve as life on earth does or is she/he/it independent of time and space?
The god in my study into telepathy and reincarnation came through as a human being who in numerous life cycles here on earth and in the parallel universe evolved into a great leader, a family man with a wife and children. In his last life on earth he has been known as the pharoah Djoser (his pyramid still stands in Egypt). His wife in her last life on earth has been know as Seti I (her mummy is dispayed in a British museum). In the parallel universe together they are parents to people known to us on earth as Moses, Jesus, the Gautama Buddha, the prophet Mohamed, the real Dalai Lama (no the current fake) and pope John XXIII. I would call them our Earth locals. There are other life supporting places in the universe although not all carbon based (Creator)
The Creator is an entirely different being, overseeing our entire universe.
 
So do you believe God is the Universe? I started believing that after I saw that movie The Secret in 2007.

Sorry Cathie, but the only thing I found in your post I could agree with is that "The Creator is an entirely different Being, overseeing our entire universe." We can't describe It by any other method but by Its creative deeds. (Psalm 19:1) Its existence though can be proved by the logical method.

No, I do not believe that God is the universe. God is Ultimate Intelligent Consciousness and, only man was created with a relative portion of that attribute of God.
