Database errors

Hey, iBrian –

I'm getting an 'internal database error, contact administrator' window popping up while writing posts.

I had them last night, and around 6-8pm-ish UK time, IO was offline for a bit, not long. Got another window pop up today ....
 
The last few days I've had a lot of problems connecting with the page. On and off again.
 
I have not been locked out recently.... no issues there...

the only thing I haven't figured out is a way to add a quote (from an outside source) into a post, multi-quote and edit a quote.

Are people still having connectivity problems? I couldn't log in this morning, but there was a big storm blowing through town and I couldn't connect to half the sites I tried, so I was curious if others were having the same problem. On the server side though, things were normal.

Yeah, sorry about that. There was some confusion and I thought there was going to be a second moderator on here on a daily basis during the transition between me and Brian, but that apparently wasn't the case. I appreciate everyone's patience during that time.
 
Funny you should say! Haven't had any issue until yesterday. Things seem to work fine now.
 
I couldn't connect for a while yesterday. At one point the site loaded but looked like minimal/default formatting ... no graphics, as far as I recall.

Okay. Thanks for letting me know, Thomas. With the three of us having issues yesterday, it clearly wasn't a localized issue. I'll get in touch with the hosting company and make sure they're aware of the issue.

Thanks, A Cup of Tea. Sounds very similar to what Thomas and I experienced. Please keep me posted if it occurs again now, or in the future. I've put the service request in with the host so hopefully this was just an isolated incident.
 
The site was down for me when I tried to log on yesterday. Don't know if it was an all day situation or not; it was at least a few hours. Today the site is being recalcitrant. Failed to load a post. Then loaded it but not the complete post. The last post I did before this one went fine. We'll see about this one!

It worked!

DA, thanks for the feedback. I haven't had any problems with the site today, but I'm sorry to hear you've been having issues. I'm glad your latest post went through. Please keep me posted on any further issues.
 
NJ: When was the server change you mentioned in #8?

Update: If you're experiencing connection or database errors last night or today, I'm working on them with the host. Looks like a hack that is overwhelming the database and blocking everyone else out. I apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.
