Hello,

I am a Christian/Messianic Gentile who has just found your forum. I post on a site very similar to this one called "Religious Forums" as a Mod, so I'm very familiar with the layout and so-on. I have just recently come back to Yeshua Messiah from Zoroastrianism/Mazdaism. I collect different Bible Versions, I attend an Anglican Church and I love reading scriptures from other Religions. I was a Christian for a long time before I converted to Mazdaism, then came back. I enjoy apologetics and watch debates on Youtube by people such as David Wood, James White, Sami Zaatari, Shabir Ally and so on.

I also enjoy Philosophy and Politics. I took Philosophy classes at Sixth Form College studying under a Greek professor.

Thanks.
A.G.

Namaste AG....welcome to our little forum...

collecting bible versions? To have them, or for parallel reading? Which is your go to? (for me it is the Llamsa, KJV, and the Message that I find most often useful, useful for me to develop an understanding of what was going on/meant)...I also use the Metaphysical Bible Dictionary.

I just enjoy reading them and seeing which I prefer, what the differences are, which textual bases are used and so forth. I enjoy the NASB for accuracy and literal readings, the Jerusalem Bible for casual reading and deutero-canonical books, and the ESV for carrying around in my bag when I go out. I love the way the Jerusalem and New Jerusalem (and in some places the Holman Christian Standard) use the name Yahweh, rather than the LORD rendering. :)

Welcome, AG! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on here. Certainly sounds like you have a lot of perspective on interfaith ideas :)

Hi, AEmilia Gratia. I have an identity over there, too. This forum is a little less strict about the directories. Other than that there seem to be lot of similarities.

edit:
A small suggestion. If you want to find out the most recent posts you have to click two things. First click 'Recent posts' near the top. That gives you an unsorted group of fairly recent posts, but then if you click the little 'Recent Posts' on the right side of the screen a little further down that will sort the posts, and you'll get the absolute most recent posts listed first.

What is your Faith or lack of? :) Yes, they are very similar. Oh now I don't think we are too strict about rule enforcement over at RF ;)

Sorry for the questions...just completely unfamiliar... is it synagogues or churches and do you meet with Messianic Jews? How many of this group do they estimate there are?

On Shabbat I pray, read the Bible, and refrain from doing my normal activities in order to remember God. I want to start lighting candles and things. I attend a regular Anglican Church.

I'm a christian, but I go by 'Christian Liberal', because I don't want to be bound by the strictures of other Christians. I was born Christian and then I have been born-again, baptized, re-baptised, de-trinitized, re-trinitized, isolated and universalized. At your service!

I think I visited an Episcopal church once, two or three actually. They varied greatly, so I suppose not all Anglican churches are the same, either. One of them had a bell choir. One of them had Yoga classes. One had a gigantic organ.

Guess I'm a bit late to the welcome party, Salaam Allahikum. Put your feet up and tell your tale. Hopefully we will enjoy a new perspective from the Christian side of things. I've always found the Messianic Jew types interesting, but like all denominations of Christianity, it seems everyone has their definition of what their practice's name is.
