Havism

Hello guys!
Scientology has become one of the most well-known modern religions. However, there are many other smaller ones that tend to be unfamiliar or unknown. I am posting this because I am part of one of the latter religions. I am a Havist.
Many of you reading this will not know what this means.

I will start from the beginning.
We believe in an entity called Samsus. It is genderless and essentially acted as the Big Bang. It sacrificed itself to create the universe. The universe is existing through Samsus just as Samsus is existing through the universe. all lifeforms are a part of Samsus and so we are all connected to this higher being.
Because we are eternally grateful for its sacrifice, we try to better ourselves as Earthlings. We respect all lifeforms and treat our fellow humans as equals, regardless of race, sex/gender, sexuality, belief, nationality, etc. No human is any greater or worse than another. Our religion is built on understanding and expressing ourselves in an environment that will not be met with hate, but with respect and decency.
We value giving back to our community via community services, volunteering, etc.
Our services consist of us voicing our own individual interpretations of verses as opposed to reading them or being told what they mean.

It isn't something too easily found on google, which is why we're in the process of making a site with the term 'havism' actually in the url.
It's origins run in the united states and was created by a group of people that wanted a religion clean of any separation between people. Something open which equality is one of the essential principles.

The number of 'followers' per say is rather small. I believe only around 50 to 100 people actually practice it that I'm aware of, hence why it is relatively unknown.

I had no involvement in the creation of Havism :)
The name Samsus is a very human name. This was given to the deity for purely ironic reasons. It is because Samsus is essentially unfathomable to our knowledge. Because we can not picture anything so elusive and miraculous, we call him Samsus--a very unmiraculous name.

Currently we have no web pages. We have a scripture, but I'd have to ask for an online copy of it.
We do have a Google+ page that recently got put up if you're interested. It's called Havism. It is free to join and you can ask questions to the Havist community and the creators (not many Havists have registered on the page yet though).
We are working on an information website for Havism, but I'm not too sure when that'll be finished. It is one of the projects I am directly involved in.

Who wrote the scripture by which you base the faith? How was the scripture developed (revealed/derived/influenced)? Maybe you could just give a small synopsis of core developement.
 
It seems to validate if there is no god...man would invent one.... I don't like your god...so I'll make my own....

I get accused of that sometimes...

I'm sorry you get accused of that though. Which faith are you apart of, if you don't mind my asking?
Our deity acts more as an explanation to how things started. We don't know what it is for certain, but it is what started it all. If that makes sense.

The scripture was written by one person and influenced by a small group of people. It is more of a scripture that involves coming to your own conclusions than being told what to think.

so, and I'm not trying to be demeaning, you are essentially calling a collective agreement on scientific theory of the Big Bang, a Religion? No offense but it rather sounds like an Atheistic Mockery than a religion.

So would it be fair to say that your beliefs center around the idea that a force greater than ourselves created everything and continues to act upon and direct our lives?

No that actually has very little to do with what my religion stands for. and yes, calling someone's religion a mockery of anything is incredibly demeaning. Please be respectful.

No, not really. The religion essentially lacks a deity for the most part, sort of like Buddhism.

Life after death lays in the unknown so we do not depict what happens. It is up for the individual to come to this conclusion. Many Havists believe in reincarnation or a more spiritual sense of returning to the Earth. Our beliefs are both spiritual and philosophical. We believe we are all connected and are all divine. In order to get closer to this divinity, we follow the various philosophies proposed in the Book.

please don't take my statement as demeaning. I am trying to be very particular with my words to avoid this. what I'm referring to is basically it sounds as though it is more of a thought than a religious view. Agnosticism, mixed with Buddhism, and a little hinduistic tendencies. Is deity is a guess as an explanation to the unknown?

If you do not want to be demeaning, just be respectful. Thank you.
It is similar to Buddhism in that it focuses much on spirituality and philosophy. It is both a religion and a school of thought, similar to Buddhism in this regard.
