Dear viva,
The oldest written example reads 616. It is the number of a man, and that man is Constantine, the king who established the Roman church via his convened Council of Nicaea. His two horns like a lamb are the "worthless shepherd" (Zech 11:17)/Peter, and the false prophet Paul (Zech 11:10). He is the 7th head of the beast (Rev 17), who endeavored to change the time and the law (Daniel). His power as Pontifex Maximus, and being an Augustus Caesar, is derived from Julius Caesar, who was the 5th head of the beast. If one is not written in the book of the lamb, they will worship the beast (Rev).
