It struck me that although I have been a member, mostly inactive, for close to 4 years, I have never introduced myself.

I am, as my user name so states, a rabbi. I am also cute, adorable and older than dirt.

As I noted on the thread dealing with the issue, and here I repeat myself -

"I usually write "G-d" but only because it has become so widespread a Jewish convention."

If you find that writing "G!d" instead of "God" has meaning for you, for whatever reason or purpose, I am not going to object to your doing so.

I have sometimes, not completely in jest, referred to myself as a Reconrefoconservadox Jew. I am what some have labelled as a Reform traditionalist or, to use a political analogy, a somewhat right of center Reform rabbi.

Transliteration can be a b*tch, but for the record - If you're using Ashekenzic pronunciation it is Shabbos, using Sephardic pronunciation it is Shabbat.
