It struck me that although I have been a member, mostly inactive, for close to 4 years, I have never introduced myself.

I am, as my user name so states, a rabbi. I am also cute, adorable and older than dirt.

Lol...quite the introduction...

Got a question for ya... Do you object to a Christian writing G!d?? In lieu of using the o?

As I noted on the thread dealing with the issue, and here I repeat myself -

"I usually write "G-d" but only because it has become so widespread a Jewish convention."

If you find that writing "G!d" instead of "God" has meaning for you, for whatever reason or purpose, I am not going to object to your doing so.

Nice to have a rabbi among us. Where do you fit in the spectrum from ortho to renewal?

I have sometimes, not completely in jest, referred to myself as a Reconrefoconservadox Jew. I am what some have labelled as a Reform traditionalist or, to use a political analogy, a somewhat right of center Reform rabbi.

I've attended a synagogue that does different denominational shabot Services......

Transliteration can be a b*tch, but for the record - If you're using Ashekenzic pronunciation it is Shabbos, using Sephardic pronunciation it is Shabbat.

Shalom! No need to compare yourself to dirt!
We have respect for people here.
For centuries ancient Jewish culture was using Nitre for cleaning, including in ancient Judaism, which I respect:

And ultimately it's your spirit that counts.

Thank you for coming here and I value your insights.
