I've worked in the field of mental health for nearly 40 years and have always been fascinated with the occasional cases of parents bringing young children in due to their concern that something was radically wrong with their child when the child has said things unexplainable by way of our current materialistic worldview. Cases such as the young child speaking of their deceased grandmother visiting them in the night or purportedly seeing "ghosts." The latest to come into our agency was a 6 year-old whose parents with whom he had lived since age of 18 months had lately taken to first saying he was someone named Michael, (not his name), and then later that Michael talks with him. They said his birth mother had a child who died before his birth by the name of Michael of whom he had never known. Find it interesting to see therapists in the difficult position of saying there's nothing "wrong" with your child, assuming they do not hold that materialistic worldview, or struggling with making sense of it when they do.

I made a thread about a year ago on this topic with the same title, http://www.interfaith.org/community/threads/17649/
If it was the 1 I recall, you were discussing some things your nephew came up with. Sorry for the inadvertent "plagiarism" of the title then. Seems as I recall, though, it wasn't about parapsychological experiences of young children which this references. But, within our own family I've witnessed parapsychological experiences in a very young child. Earl

No problem. I'm not claiming intellectual property or anything.;)

Actually that was the intent of the thread I started as well, albeit from a decidedly spiritual perspective using my grand nephew as an example. By the 5th page, as so often happens on the forum, it turned into something else. Nice to have the topic revisited though. Hope others will chime in.
