Baha'i
The next Baha'i Holy Day will be on Saturday July 9th ...usually observed around noon time as it was believed that was the hour when Siyyid Ali Muhammad the Bab (the Gate) was executed by musket fire in a barracks square in Tabriz Iran...then the Persian Empire.
The Bab had a relatively brief career of about six years (1844 to 1850) and was relatively young...being executed when He was about thirty years old.
The Bab claimed to be the Promised One of Shiah Islam the Return of the Twelfth Imam who disappeared and was believed to be guiding the religion over a thousand lunar years from 260 AH to 1260 AH in what was termed "occultation".
Many of the teachings of the Bab were meant to destabilize the hierarchies of the existing religions in preparation for "Him Whom God will make manifest"... a Personage that would fulfill the prophecies of the earlier dispensations.
Baha'is gather for prayers and fellowship on the Holy Day on which work and school are suspended.
