Happy Janmashtami 2017

What type of service/ceremony do you have?
Some celebrations are quite elaborate and take place over several days, but for us it's mostly a Midnight Arati on the last day to commemorate the birth of Krishna. We start by forgoing meat for 7 days prior and making small daily offerings to Krishna in preparation for that day.

Where, during the day we decorate our Mandir inside and out with fresh flowers, garlands and such. Light candles, burn incense and play kirtans while preparing food, treats and other offerings. Multiple varieties of fruits, milk, yogurt, ghee, etc. Then, at or before midnight we perform a pooja and have our meal.

I believe it will just be my wife and I this year, but then I'm not always privy to the latest intel.;)
