Something I read earlier today that I don't know where to put

It is a shame that the United States Supreme Court, which ought to be free of political concerns, is so heavily politicized.
It never wasn't political...but its role and their duty once a justice was to protect the constitution and the institution of the US

The president nominates, the Senate confirms. How can it not be political? Heck, there was the kerflufful about President Obama nominating someone after Antonin Scalia passed and the Republican senators said that the nomination should be done by the next president (and we got Kavanaugh!) Now, with less than two months to go, the same bloody senators have done a 180!

Plenty of black bears around here. They are almost always shy and peaceable, (But don't mess with cubs. Momma is always nearby.) However they are omnivores and eat just about anything they can find without putting themselves in any peril. This includes carrion. The bear was not simply being curious. She was finding out if the guy was dead and therefore an easy meal. Not dead? Danger Will Robinson!

A truism?

Anyone know why Allstate is running a commercial for car insurance featuring cars traveling about with objects on their roofs, goldfish bowls, trays of Jello etc, but with the soundtrack being Edith Piaf singing Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien? That song fit the Dove Chocolate commercial perfectly but I fail to see the relevance here.

This doesn't fit Cats because there aren't any :kitty:s, just corgi mixes: https://cheezburger.com/12755205/corgis-crossed-with-other-dog-breeds-twitter-thread

The size and shape genes are very important for Corgis, both breeds. They herd cattle and horses and need to be able to to stay underneath the kicks yet still be big enough to be readily seen and be taken seriously. A Cardigan can easily be 35 pounds or more, about the same as a much taller Whippet.

I consider this lady's rant quite true: https://www.yahoo.com/huffpost/nichole-nordeman-covid-19-christian-174423130.html

She lost an aunt eight hours after being diagnosed with COVID-19 (nobody in the family had time to see her one last time to say goodbye.) What gets under her skin is when she sees people going around disregarding simple safety measures that would keep everyone else (relatively) healthy during this pandemic.
