Yes taking care of animals is important part of Islam, but they should have built a cat shelter instead as it's important Mosque remains clean, especially the floor where Muslims pray and cats can urinate or poo in the mosque

I'm sure if they collect donations from the worshippers, they can build a basic cat shelter before the winter

I love cats - I'm definitely a cat person - and I love this video.

Animals really aren't supposed to be running around inside the Masjid, especially in the musallah (prayer area), but it's really cool that they've taken in these cats!

They should build a little shelter by the Masjid. People could stop in & play with them and maybe start adopting them.

And yes! Kindness to animals is a tenet of Islam - beautifully demonstrated here.
