I have been involved in many religious forums in the past 13 years and notice that many of them have thousands of members but only a few members who actually engage in making posts and replying to them.

I know the reason this happens because of my first experience with MySpace.com starting in 2007. It has everything to do with the management of these forums and MySpace.com was managed very little other than it enabled us to have any type of fonts and colors of fonts to make our blogs with. We could post pictures with our blogs to attract members. We had some great looking blogs that were very attractive along with some great thoughts to set up arguments. Then the war would begin under each blog in the comment section.

The biggest reason it was so successful is because there was total freedom of speech. You could say anything you wanted to because there were no monitors watching the blogs and replies. If you were not happy with some member, you could report that member but it was almost impossible to get rid of that member. Because of this freedom of speech, it was the best place I have ever been involved in because new blogs were posted every day with up to 1,000 or more replies in each blog. There were hundreds of members all involved.

However, a very wealthy man by the name of Rupert Murdoch had bought MySpace around the time I started and then he had it all changed. No longer could we use all kinds of fonts or colors of fonts. He removed our ability to post pictures so within one week, all the members had left. It totally died in one week after that change. I stayed in it for a few days but it was so boring, then it was no longer any fun.

Facebook was new so most members joined Facebook which is what I did. But Facebook is a very boring site too because only one kind of font is used with no color. Each Facebook user sets up his own forum and all those forums contained rules with the page owner monitoring what was written. Almost all those forums died within weeks after they started. I am involved with 18 of those forums today but I get very little response in them. Most posters are only posting memes, pictures, etc. and not engaging in any kind of debate. Those 18 forums have over 2 million members but most of them are not at all involved in debate or sharing their thoughts.

In order to have success in any of these forums, freedom of speech is necessary, no matter what kind of language is used. Otherwise they die with only a few members who are making sure everyone else is complying to the rules. Some of those members become very clever in the way they can cause you anger but they never get banned. It's the one's they intimidate who get banned. This is why most religious forums end up being controlled by atheist's who know how to intimidate and get you angry and say things that get you banned.

This post is only knowledge from my experiences. I don't assume that this site will change but it appears to me to be a very dead forum. I see all the members viewing posts but not participating by actually replying to the posts. This lack of participation takes away any competition and only a few members end up doing all the posting with similar thoughts. This causes boredom.

If I don't get any response from this post, I will be one of those members who are signed up but never participate.

Ok, well have your say here. It's only fair to let you have a chance. We'll have to see how it goes.

We don't want to be like Facebook or MySpace. Quality of thought and debate is the issue here more than quantity of members or postings. It's not about success here. There's no advertising or financial gain from these forums.

As an experienced members of other forums, you may find it polite to post an introductory post about yourself?

So, anyway welcome to IO. Please check the code of conduct.

I thought I would start out with a blog defining what a good forum is like to be involved in. I have experienced other forums that were great but because of the rules, they died fast. All you need is a few instigators who have learned how to irritate other members without themselves being implicated as the culprit who started the confrontation. Then because of the anger they stir up in these members they are messing with, they get them banned.

I can use the term "bully" to describe members like that. The reason I know about these bullies is because they have had me banned many times in the past even though I had many members loving what I was sharing. They get jealous of what I know and understand so they work hard in trying to get me banned. Once you're banned, the only way back in is to change IP status or change email addresses. Once in, then you go find your friends that loved what you were sharing until those bullies attack again. This is why I say the best forums are those without rules or moderators so that each member can express themselves freely without worrying about the bullies attacking them.

If you don't understand this, then you might be one of those bullies who find ways to ban a member. This is why you tell me that you don't want many members in a forum like this. You can't control more than so many members. I myself am involved in 24 forums right now along with sharing knowledge in youtube.com videos and other websites where I find friends who love what I share with them. My words are exposed to millions of members of these forums if they happen to read them. I am attacked constantly because of what I know and share.

I will know after a few posts who the bullies are in here. It's usually the members who never get banned.

We're not that sort of forum and if you don't like it nobody's making you stay here.

You're not doing too well so far. This is an interfaith forum and nobody's bullied you. But other members are waiting for your contribution to the interfaith debate?

Since you moved my post, it appears you didn't like my wisdom of how forums are managed. Like I said, I will know who the bullies are within a few posts.

Welcome to Interfaith discussion forum.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on how the internet has developed.

Now, what is your intetest in interfaith discussion? What is your own world view, and what similarities, differences, resonancrs, dissonances, influences between faiths would you like to explore?

You posted nothing to do with the news on the site. So it was moved to the lounge. You've posted no interfaith discussion. Do you have anything to offer an interfaith forum? People here may actually be interested.

This is a discussion forum not a blog host...

Why do you feel a need to come in and bully this forum...did others get rid of you?
Hey Wil!
You probably already know the answer to your question. After 15 years on this site we've seen 'em come and go. There were so many that wanted to come on here and fulfill their own agenda. Most were never receptive to feedback and most didn't really come to discuss in good faith. I remember back when I was Paladin, we often dealt with difficult people. Some things never change.

I actually have an eternal view knowing this visible world will disappear soon.

I have much to offer as long as the bullies in this site don't get me banned. Bullies hate eternal knowledge but those who believe, will want to hear more and more about how they are created and what the future will be like.

I'm not the bully. I was just informing any member who doesn't share their thoughts in here why they don't share. I notice the thousands who view a post or replies and never contribute. Do you know what it's like to be bullied because of the thoughts you share that they don't believe in?

Bullies all think alike and that is why in some forums that I call "dead forums", the bullies are the only one's posting and replying. Their thoughts are the only thoughts that are acceptable.

Please bear in mind, before you are soon banned here, as from all the other forums, that the reason is not because you are a victim, or that you are being bullied, but because you insist on coming into our house and telling us how things should be. You are also substituting discussion for posting lists of Bible quotes, and wanting to force your own beliefs on everyone else, rather than talking and listening.

In fact it is you whose thoughts are the only acceptable thoughts?

You just need to read this and agree to stay within our code of conduct on this site, or else agree that you are not the victim, but the aggressor, in this case?

OK, so here's your warning.

No, you set up a double bind situation on yourself, so you could feel victimized.

This is well-intended feedback. You can do with it whatever you like.

I have lots of experience in hundreds of forums so I'm not a victim at all. I speak for our FATHER, the CREATOR and those who run these forums HATE our FATHER.
