"A Dark Song", written by Liam Gavin, and starring Steven Oram and Catherine Walker, is a psychological or supernatural horror movie (both interpretations work) about a
months-long ritual of ceremonial Magic.
From my point of view, it is a very accurate depiction of a certain style of ceremonial Magic, down to most details (there are a few bloopers, such as Chinese and Indic writing in a ritual taken from a medieval grimoire), and in particular of the personal process unfolding over the duration of the ritual. The producer and screenwriter certainly did his research and has a sure sense of the aesthetics and mechanics of ritual magic, and its modern-day practitioners.
It is also an interesting storyline, with a surprising and satisfying ending, and a well-developed character study.
