( someone else did, or you were misinformed)

I didn't SAY Julia stole my purse.
(I implied it)

I didn't say JULIA stole my purse.
(I said Jane did)

I didn't say Julia STOLE my purse.
(She took it.accidently)

I didn't say Julia stole MY purse.
(I was somebody elses)

I didn't say Julia stole my PURSE.
(It was my wallet)

But yes, you are highlighting here what I was talking about yesterday about the difficulty conveying intent in written words.

Too often someone in a foul mood will interject that mood onto words that had none when written.

Likewise, snark can sometimes be missed by someone not looking for it. Some take a level of pride being able to dish a minor insult that goes unnoticed.

Awareness that what you read might be different than what is written.... that what you perceived from the words in not what was intended...that awareness of a possibility is a huge step and worthy of clarification.
