I've been thinking about Patron Saints, and wanted to see what this forum has to offer in terms of collective wisdom and experience.
So my one parent's family is Roman Catholic, and they have a history of revering the Lady of Częstochowa. It turns out her feast day was last Saturday, when I had some successful emergency surgery. I enjoyed this serendipity, and my relatives from that branch of the family are very chuffed about that, as well.
Do you have any interesting stories about personal or family patrons, whether living human beings, saintly figures, or deities? Please tell, I'm kind of bored here in this hospital bed.
