Hello this is my first post on this website, I am interested in having a respectful dialogue with any who oppose the idea that Jesus is the anointed messiah prophesied about in the tanakh. If you are interested please reply and I would love to chat with you and please let’s remain as friendly as possible.
Just to offer some info about my own position, I grew up in a Christian home but at the age of 11-13 or so I began to doubt the beliefs I was raised under because it quite frankly seemed like a bunch of fairytales to me. But after looking to the world for answers I came to the conclusion at the age of 15-16 that this world does not have all of the answers and that we are much smaller than we like to think. I was open again to the possibility of God. I began to go to church and really only kept going because of girls. I began to read the Bible more, mostly the proverbs of Solomon. One night as I was showering I prayed that God would give me wisdom, and I asked in absolute desperation because I knew that I was going to screw my life up if I did not receive wisdom from him. That night I had a dream in which God spoke to me clearly. As soon as the dream began, I saw golden letters which filled my vision, and I heard a voice that really wasn’t much of a voice but rather a loud and powerful explosion which carried direct meaning that I was able to understand as a specific sentence. It said “if you want wisdom, follow me.”
And so as soon as the voice stopped speaking I woke up and knew without a doubt that it was God who had spoken to me. I knew it was Jesus of Nazareth that had spoken to me, I didn’t ask, he didn’t tell, I just knew. From that day I have been searching the scriptures to learn how to follow Jesus and to be obedient to him, and I am 20 years old today so I’ve only been on this journey for about 3 years since I heard his voice. Since that time he has revealed much to me, through his word and through meditation of his word. One thing that I have done to understand his word is to listen to a book of the Bible on repeat for an entire day and do that for multiple days. Then I will also pray and seek him out in the wilderness. I know nothing, that is one of the biggest things I’ve learned. I know nothing, except what he has told me, and I trust his words more than I trust my sight. I desire to know him more than I desire to live. That being said, I am awful at fasting. Most I’ve ever fasted was one day. I am weak in that area. Anyway, that is my position. I am interested to learn about you and your thoughts on Jesus. Thank you for your time.
