Revised, then – same result:

One Cross – 4 directions :: 4 Nails :: 4Given.
oh you may think you are forgiven . you are still going to die for your sins and be dead for who knows how long .

We know the feet were nailed.

1 cross + 3 nails = 4given
I'm not sure how one implies the other?
Is there anything in scripture or extra biblical sources that states anything about the number of nails?

To the best of my understanding there is still scholarly debate about just how all of this physically happened, with either the crucifixion of Jesus or other crucifixions of the era.
Religion for Breakfast (YouTube) offered a 3 hour class several months ago that described what they know and what they try to speculate.
Religion for Breakfast This was an ad for the class.
I do not believe he has posted it as a video.
I just emailed him to see if I can see it again. I would rather direct people to the video of the class if it is out, or review it again myself, rather than try to summarize from memory what I learned. To my recollection to make sense of it they have to synthesize what they know about crucifixions historically, what archeological evidence they can find related to crucifixions, and what they know about biomechanics, to arrive as anything close to an accurate reconstruction of events.

just because someone ,300 years after the death of jesus , was hung on a cross, does not in anyway mean that jesus also died on a cross .

Ok, I think we got the message earlier - there's disagreement how exactly someone might be taken off a cross. However, the discussion is running in circles now and therefore run its course, but is getting nasty with comments such as this:
oh you may think you are forgiven . you are still going to die for your sins and be dead for who knows how long .
In which case, thread closed.
