Good News for old people in India

Till now, government aid to old for treatment was limited to people below the poverty line. Now, it has been extended to all old persons. That means my wife and myself are eligible for government help upto USD 6,000 each, a nice amount in India. We may never use it, but that is a different matter.

I'm glad to hear.
I no longer trust that I or others of my generation will get Social Security when we need it.
I no longer trust a lot of things I used to take for granted in my country.

Don't dispaire. If you live in US, Trump is coming back and he will Make America Great Again.
We have so many other government and state health schemes as well, most completely free for poor people that include tests and medicines.
Democracy is a demon. To get votes, political parties have to do it.

I do live in the US. I HOPE tRump will not "come back" and he will make nothing great.
The US is a democratic republic.
Was it Winston Churchill who said "democracy is the worst form of government you can imagine, until you try to imagine a better one"

I am all for democracy with all its warts and corns, since, as Churchill said, there is none better.
