Hey all, I'm Yoru. I'm a 23 y/o Hoosier (someone from the US state of Indiana). I've been looking into different faiths for a bit, after I lost mine as a teenager. I was raised I think Pentecostal but I have a bad memory and practically all my family stopped going to church. I did start going to a Quaker church in my town, but my family wants to move to a small town in Florida which doesn't have a Quaker church. Anyway, I wouldn't really consider myself a Quaker, I just think the people and community there are great.

I'd say I'm somewhere between a deist and atheist in terms of my beliefs about God, but also believe religions are overall a good thing. At least, on an individual level. I don't want to get political, but I'm sure you've seen how the religious politicians act.

Welcome aboard. To me community is what keeps groups together... the breaking bread, the familiar faces, the shared experiences.

Atheists and agnostics struggle to replicate that. We grow up with our parents faith an indoctrination that some today feel is more child abuse....that a child is of the same faith as their parent....what a coincidence...it was pumped into their brain before kindergarten education.

I find there are parts of all religions I enjoy. There are teachings parables, allegory, sayings, words of masters that resonate and some that don't. I can like chicken, and not like the white meat...

I like this community, a community exploring thought and interpretation and our distance allows me to easily walk away from a conversation I dont care to participate in.

I am rambling, I hope you find this a place to ramble, to contemplate, to read and explore.

Welcome.
