Well, this test has taught me something new about myself. I'm far away from the eastern orthodox. That's for sure I cannot tell this to my mother ! :D
 
Hmmmmm, I guess what caught me by surprise was the top end.

I'm born and raised a Roman Catholic, yet the survey/test/religious IQ quotient suggests that I'm wrapped a little tighter than that. Well, maybe not, since I prefer the term "American Catholic". However, I do seem to enjoy going to and being part of Episcapalian churches. I liked going to the Mosque in Greenbelt?, Ohio (what a beautiful building made for God). The people (there that day), weren't so beautiful though. Maybe I insulted them somehow.

Anywho, I don't consider myself a fundemantalist for Christ. I'm just an average GI Joe who knows when his butt was saved, and who did the ultimate saving (time and time again).

Very interesting test there, Mr. Brian; much food for thought.

interesting. i already attend Quaker worship weekly, so that fits pretty well. i went to a local UU meeting a couple of times, but that just didn't seem to click. also went on a Zen (mahayana, i suppose) temple this summer with a friend and sat for a Zazen session.

hello, Persona. that's a good question...i want to feel a sense of community, certainly, which is why i'm looking for a congregation. i know that i'm personally turned away from dogma or a rigidly structured belief system, which is why i tend to seek out faiths that emphasize one's personal path.

how about you?

I dont know ISFP, let me try to tell you using a poem that i really like..

i'm on a long and narrow road
on my way morning and night
i don't know what state i'm in

in a place with 2 doors

if ever it is thought of in depth

actually no, i wouldn't say so. they have a reputaion for being poorly understood and being seen as "old fashioned", though.

when most people think "Quaker" they think "guy on the oatmeal box" with his wide-brimmed hat and colonial attire. the old-fashioned clothes are very rarely worn these days (if at all)- most Quakers i've seen come to meeting dressed in khakis, skirts, dresses, or jeans.

and as far as prudery...i have the feeling that idea might come from the colonial attire that most people associate with Quakerism. Quakers value respect for others and one's self in all scenarios, including sexual ones. the congregation i attend is pretty much non-ruffled by sexual matters- lgbtq folks are openly welcomed, and i've yet to see anyone turned away based on their sexual orientation or sexual history.
