Sir
I was reading your post #15 dated 09-02-2005, 07:42 AMon the thread “The Hebrew Bible”.
I have tried but sitehttp://www.mechon-mamre.org/p/pt/pt0.htm does not open up on the internet.
By the way ,in what context you have mentioned Qu’ran in your following passage:-
“Try the translations of the Qu’ran and you won’t consider chabad translation it’s very much biased http://www.mechon-mamre.org/p/pt/pt0.htmMechon-mamre shows you in parallel Hebrew text and English text”
Please elaborate further for my information. Thanks
Yours
inhumility
Translation of the Hebrew bible to fit the chabad agenda it’s unlikely
The reason to translate the bible to English was to aid Jewish Diaspora to obtain the knowledge in their native language it is not direct to gentiles there is no missionary in Judaism.
the harsh criticism of the Jewish communities would not allow such behavior
and it is a must to translate the torah that will be loyal to the meanings of the message.
Koran was translated several times and each gave different meaning which is more close to the meaning it is simply impossible to decide the Muslims present day
In most are themselves admit that not all understood what it says
It is cause the language spoken then it is not according to the Arabic today
Some words were not translated at all in English and stayed as the were written in Arabic the reason was that the translators were not familiar with these words
Even so the were written in Arabic letters some are Hebrew and Aramaic words and Arabic of that time
But I am basing not on this alone after showing a verse to different Muslims in different forum boards I received different explanations
