Christianity - a pick and choose faith?

Yes, it is true the right wing has considerable clout. No doubt about that. The [problem I have here is that I keep finding different polls giving different results.

You have to follow the trends of the different polls over the past 20 years, and not just this poll nor the other. As a rule they are consistent. Recent polls do show a positive change in the attitude towards evolution in young people.

The polls do show a significant trend in the increase in what are called non-denominational churches, especially the large ones. I have visited several with an audience of easily over 500, and on with an auditorium filled with more than 1,500. The loosers here are the moderate liberal churches in the polls.

Well compare Christians to the family of prophets and you will see no resemblance whatsoever.

Heck, compare Christians to their jesus.

A man who wore a thobe like garment. Had a beard. Didn't eat swine. Fasted for a month. Prayed by prostrating to his lord. Was circumcised. His mom and women who believed in him covered their hair. Which Christian practices any of this today?

They believe everything in the bible either only applied to the Jews or jesus died for them so they don't have to follow those laws anymore. Which is why they have tattoos, get drunk, sex without marriage, eat swine. Don't look like believing men and women. It's a pick and choose religion for sure. Church once a Sunday and you're good to go.

Well that's a question of outward observation and inward disposition.

Or, put another way, we've come to the reasoned understanding that wearing robes, having a beard, not eating pork, and so forth, are no real signs of one's faith. It's not what faith in God is about.

And it's a moot point really, as the same thing can be said of any religious tradition. Islam is no different in that respect.

They believe everything in the bible either only applied to the Jews or jesus died for them so they don't have to follow those laws anymore.
No they don't.

There is a debate about to begin in the UK about integration of peoples into national community. It's going to be tough, and on of the prime sticking points will be the patriarchalism (and inherent misogyny) of the Abrahamic religions (being the major faiths by numbers) which adherents insist is part of their faith, when the reality is it's just a continuation of cultural practices, often that are actually in opposition to the spirit of the message.

LOL. If you believe that ...

But really, negative stereotypes don't really advance the discussion. It's not what the religion says.
