A British Airways check-in worker who was banned from wearing a cross to work said last night she was "elated" that the airline was changing its uniform policy to allow staff to wear a "symbol of faith" openly.

Nadia Eweida, 55, from Twickenham, south west London, said the decision to allow people to wear a cross or other symbols of their faith was long overdue.

If they had just let her wear it in the first place which would have been the sensible decision all of this commotion would have been avoided. Another case of being overly politically correct.
