Why don't u enlighten me.
OK. But, you have to help me. Question: What do you think is the point of Way of the Master asking people if they are good and then telling them of God's standard of goodness?

to scare them....I thought i said that aready.
I think James is very close to Christian doctrine on this one.
Heaven to me is what things were like in Eden - on earth. (Paradise)...
Metaphysically and symbolically, the 'tree in the midst' stands for the vertical axis, which is the Divine Principle that manifests itself at every level ... so we have the tree, from which the four rivers flow, around which is the (paradisical) graden ... and this template reproduces itself above and below...
I think each individual can find the kingdom within themselves on a spiritual level, but Crists "Established" Kingdom isn't until every man, woman, and child has come to find it individually.
The Orthodox doctrine of theosis – the divinisation of man – is assumed by many to apply to 'me' individually, but as the Orthodox understand it, the term replies to humanity as a whole...
Hi James - there's a story from 'The Paradise of the Desert Fathers' that I think accords with the rest of your post ... they both say the same thing to me:
"Palladius said, "One day when I was suffering from boredom I went to abba Macarius and said, "What shall I do? My thoughts afflict me, saying, you are not making any progress, go away from here."
He said to me, "Tell them, for Christ's sake, I am guarding the walls."
If find I draw strength from this is the daily battle with the 'little things' that bring us down/draw us away ... even when we feel as if we are doing nothing, as Abba Macarius points out, the adversary still sees us as 'holding our ground' ...

You did. But, I wasn't sure if you were kiddin' or not. I'm still not sure, actually. By any chance, did you get the point of them using God's laws? It is used as sort of a barometer to judge what God considers good. In other words, the contrast between God's holiness as seen forth in His Perfect laws, versus the notion of what we would consider good, when superimposed, would lead the child of God to understand why they have need for a Savior. Do you understand this point? Why or why not?
Yes. I understand. I think I did a thread on the Biblical laws. Go to page 2 of threads started by YO-ELEVEN-11
But, get the point. Just what are you tring to get me to see or do? Out with it already.
Oh, I was not kidding. They really do seem like like they want to scare people into christianity.
No point really. I just wanted to make sure you understood. I'd hate for you to hear something about the faith and not understand. The message of the Gospel is foolishness to those perishing in sins. But, to all those who believe, it is God's power to save. Some people will always find the gospel foolish and a stumbling block, thats just the way it is. But, some people - namely, Christ' sheep, they will believe.
Don't worry my friend, I understand the gospel and really admire Jesus on many levels. Just to let you know, I read the bible cover to cover as a child and I am doing it again as an adult. On that same note my eyes have been open to other religions and cultures. Think of it this way, understanding the gospel is like primary school and it prepares you to deal with other schools of understanding.
Jesus traveled alot and spoke and communed with many peoples and religions.
By the way did you know Jesus had brothers and sisters?
Anyway, you are on the right path, just be kind to your brothers and sisters of other faiths.
Here's something from the bible to help you understand where I am coming from.
"Blessed are the peacemakers; for they shall be called the children of God." Matthew 5:9
Wow, you read the Bible cover to cover? You must have took a lot of diligence? Well, please keep 1Cor 2:14 in mind. Unless you are actually born again, the power of holy writ will only be "moral words" at best. I'm glad you heard and understood the gopsel? Do you realize your consequence for rejecting God's grace, right?
I do not regect GOD grace. GOD grace give you understanding.
Can not remember the verse. but
"lean not to thy own undrestanding but acknowledge him and he shall direct your path.
You may not understand other faiths, but pray for understanding of other faiths and see what happens.
The bible talks about "heaven".
I have questions about this place.
1. What exactly is HEAVEN?
2. Where exactly in the universe is HEAVEN located?
3. What is HEAVEN made out of?
any answers or comments on these questions are greatly appreciated.
Matthew 15You dont neglect God's grace? So you've decided to repent of your sins, you've stopped living for self, and have come to Christ that you may now live to God?
