I read about an article in the internet about why Jews don't believe in Jesus Christ. They stated that Jesus did not fulfill the messiah prophecies as stated in the old testament (Hebrew bible). I would like to know what is the opinion of Christians..

he has fulfilled prophecies, and some are still future, but will come to pass.

What do you call a jew that believes that Jesus fullfilled the prophecies?? A christian.

It is simply the difference between Jews and Christians. Yes Jews may have wrote those books in the old testament, but we've widely spread our interpretation of them and made it our own.

So the question is, what do you believe, and then you'll find the group that agrees most with your beliefs.

Which would mean, Jesus would have had to fullfilled the old testament (jewish) prophecies but the whole globe knows that did not happen!:(

Who is 'our' but another secularization? There's your proof.......... that JC didn't finish the work!

Who cares about finding a group unless that group is purely honest?

Name one 'group' on earth!

All any has to do is ask; does life evolve?... to begin with.

How can you "fulfill prophecies" in the future?
He has fulfilled prophecies. There are prophecies he will fulfill in the future. For me, it is as good as fulfilled, since i believe in Him with all my heart and soul. For Christ, these prophecies have already been fulfilled since He is outside of our time. He is the beginning and the end, alpha and omega, eternal.

Christians don't usually know much about Jews, which has resulted in a lot of diversification in Christianity over the centuries. There are many extremely different kinds of Christians. Modern Jews do not seem to have a lot of interest in Christianity. Christians accept that Jesus can partially fulfill the prophecies until his return. Most modern Jews do not like that idea.

I'm not a modern Jew, however I think modern Jews expect Elijah to return and bring a restoration of everything that's been lost (check with them on the details). After Elijah does this, or perhaps along with Elijah will come a savior who will bring even more far reaching changes for everyone -- not just Jews. The savior will be as powerful a prophet as Moses was, judging with the same or possibly more authority. The savior will provide good laws for everyone everywhere -- not just for Israel. There is much much more to be said about it.

A Christian claims to be already part of a spiritually renewed world, a partial restoration or shadow of things to come that begins with John the Baptist. Christians consider John the Baptist to be a spiritual embodiment of Elijah, although not the actual Elijah, the man who must return. Views vary on this, but Elijah should literally return and Jesus should literally return as the scriptures indicate. That is when the restoration truly begins. Everything must still be restored that was lost, and it simply hasn't all been done yet.

Christians believe that non Jews can be added to Israel through means other than keeping all of the mitzvos and circumcision, by keeping the law of love through faith. This doesn't make non Jews into Jews, but something like that. There is much more to be said about it, of course. Modern Jews suggest this kind of conversion is unnecessary and perhaps impossible.

Jesus fulfill the prophecy; The Prince > The abomination of desolation > The Queen of the South > The second coming.

Jesus was broaden himself at his time beyond the traditional terminology among the Jews. I will just going to stated this plainly, that Jesus was highly considering Muhammad, the Prophet of Islam, as a prior preacher of the Abrahamic religion, and the abomination of desolation as stated in the Bible is the same theme with the topic of Dajjal in Islam, where the collective mind is seemingly kind but corrupt in itself. The Queen of the South is the same as the very elect, both are stated in the Bible, is a prior spiritual man that will come before His second-time.

So Jesus was considering a man who wouldn't be born for 400 years to teach a man who lived 2,000 years prior??

You've lost me.

Namaste and welcome to IO, may I ask what your first language is?

umm>
jzs did NOT fulfill any prophecies, neither had he FORETOLD anything
(simply bcuz the newt.test. got written AFTER he died)

so u might 'like' him,
but he didn't accomplish anything,
besides popping out of poor miriam's privates and declaring the unprovable ability to 'forgive sins'
instead of Gd.
Which is blasphemy.

Aren't you suppose to learn a religion before you point out why it's wrong? I mean, even I can point out your miss understanding.

What prophecies in the old testament did jesus not fulfill?

I am not a Jew... can't answer that, but I don't believe they are waiting (like Christians have been waiting for Jesus to return)

Judaism 101: Mashiach: The Messiah

I don't really agree with this site. Miracles happened to the jews at times in their history and those are the kind of things that the messiah would do. He doesn't wage war against other cultures but rather unifies them and brings peace. He shows the similarities within belief. Jesus did do these things.

Of course you don't agree....you are a Christian... folks that believe Jesus was the Jewish messiah are called Christians...folks that don't believe that are Jews, Muslims, Hindus etc...
