The strength of Trinity on the cross?

The disputes, the admissions, the discussions, the willingness to review and look at scripture in the light is what allows it to live.
I see no value in disputes, however discussion is awesome. There is but one valid dispute whose sharp edge must only be the martyr's own life. James 3:13 "Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom."

Hi Dream —

Go further and say that those Christological disputes accomplished little. Please say that they arose from the false belief that false teachers and false teachings can be stopped by arguments and declarations.
Yes, yes and yes! ... But, please, let's leave the disputes and marvel at the works born from them — born of the Holy Spirit:

John 16: 13
"But when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, (the Holy Spirit) he will teach you all truth. For he shall not speak of himself; but what things soever he shall hear, he shall speak; and the things that are to come, he shall show you."

Oh, good grief! I've just seen it: "For he shall not speak of himself" — one of our tutors speaks of the Holy Spirit as The Shy One" ...

"but what things soever he shall hear, he shall speak" — and what does He hear, but the Word — and who is the Word, but the Son?

"and the things that are to come, he shall show you" — and who alone knows of those things that are to come, but the Father?

The love that is in Christ surpasses all knowledge and we, to be the ground and pillar of truth, must be grounded and rooted in love.
Oh yes ... The love that is in us is the love that is in Christ, it is the Holy Spirit, and that love surpasses all knowledge (which is the Son) into the Father — into Trinitarian love of Being, Knowing and Loving.

Thanks Dream, inspired by your own beautiful words.

Unexpected things inspire us sometimes. You're welcome although I don't understand. There is a very real language barrier between all people; and you, Thomas, always have deep language for things. I sometimes wonder if you're not talking about the same things as me yet all of the analytical stuff you say is for me sometimes inaccessible -- especially when you derive the Trinity concepts and other deep stuff. I realize that I have developed my own language to work in, which may not be compatible with other people's descriptions.
