American Spirituality: Fact and Fiction

I would like to see the vandals brought to justice. (Vandalism is against the law.) The ones who try to outlaw religious expression can be countered with the Constitution. :)
flippin channels a week or so ago I caught a glimplse of some movie, have no idear what it was, but the part where I clicked in was some skin heads or some such tossing rocks thru a house with a Menorah and screaming Merry Christmas. Now I know it was a movie, but with the noise the neighbors came running and helped the Jewish family board up their window and clean up, the neighbors saying, "We don't tolerate that around here." Now I guess I'm getting old and sappy because the next scene had them driving back into town the next evening, concerned as to what further destruction they would find at their home...and instead found their entire street, everyone had gone out and purchased an electric menorah and had it glowing on their porch.

Yes, just a movie (fiction), and it touched me, and (fact) that is the kind of country I wish to live in. Where folks stand up for each other and support each others right to believe.

This I don't understand. I support your right to believe there is no G!d. I support your right to believe that the forum is here. When I support your right to believe...what is that lacking?

I believe I'll have another beer."

I'm with you. I have no problem with atheism. I do have a problem with vandalism. I don't care if someone is from the Earth Liberation group or an atheist group or a Christian group or whatever. Destroying other people's stuff is illegal.

You dare to refuse to accept his beliefs as the only possible truth, of course. So long as you are not out murdering Christians daily, you are oppressing atheists, didn't you know that?

Namaste Dogbrain,

I'd rather not get into a third party conversation about someone else. That is why I responded directly to Tao. We've all been communicating back and forth for a while, sarcasm and innuendo has its moments but when it all leads to deteriorating discussion it is not valueable.
