Compassion toward self

what do I think about karuna...?

here's a joke... the four immeasurables are really- brahma vihara- so, should compassion be karuna, or should we see it as...

kara- a(a)na, becoming... karuna... kara- causing, making, causing, making, producing, plus ana...breath...

after all, breath is useful when "ucyate namah Brahmah", non?

Hi.

I think that the decisions we make in this world depend on our view. (Lots of teachers talk about this too.) So to one person it makes no sense to give oneself to a tiger because he or she has a certain view. But to another who has a different goal, it makes perfect sense. Sensible action is in the eye of the beholder...

That said, I'm not advocate for head-in-the-clouds Buddhism. It should be practical and useful, otherwise, it's just another ego trip.
