The man of lawlessness tried to bond the free men to ecclesiastical authorities. In Christ we have freedom from every ecclesiastical council and every membership roll besides the book of life which is in heaven. There is no particular country, city, building, or council that is more important than another. I've posted some passages about freedom. Please especially notice the similarity between 'revealing of the Sons of God' in Rom 8 and 'the brightness of his coming' in 2 Thess 2:8 (above). I do see that the man of lawlessness did his work, which was to bring the people of God into captivity; so that they could finally be brought out again. What happend in the natural (Egyptian bondage) must happen in the spiritual (spiritual bondage).
Galatians 1:4-5 But because of false brethren secretly brought in, who slipped in to spy out our freedom which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage -- to them we did not yield submission even for a moment, that the truth of the gospel might be preserved for you.

1 Peter 2:15-16 For it is God's will that by doing right you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish men. Live as free men, yet without using your freedom as a pretext for evil; but live as servants of God.

Galatians 5:1 For freedom Christ has set us free; stand fast therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

Romans 8:19-22 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God; for the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will but by the will of him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and obtain the glorious liberty of the children of God. over the centuries the most high God JEHOVAH, has seen all of the badness that babylon the great (false religion)has done , and as his name means
(He causes to become) he is going to see to it that she is going to be destroyed.
And Jehovah can use who ever he chooses to acomplish his purpose , even those who are not his people .

"For God put it into their hearts to carry out his thought, even to carry out their one thought by giving their kingdom to the wild beast, until the words of God will have been accomplished." (Revelation 17:17)


What is God’s "thought"?

To arrange for the executioners of Babylon the Great to band together, in order to destroy her completely.

Of course, the rulers’ motive in attacking her will be to carry out their own "one thought."

They will feel that it is in their nationalistic interests to turn upon the great harlot.

They may come to view the continued existence of organized religion within their boundaries as a threat to their sovereignty.

But Jehovah will actually be maneuvering matters; they will carry out his thought by destroying his age-old, adulterous enemy at one stroke!—Compare Jeremiah 7:8-11, 34.



we are living in times never before lived , and things are moving ahead at a pace. false religion will soon be no more , thats why THE COMMAND at REVELATION 18;4 is really important for GODS PEOPLE

its good that the most high JEHOVAH always forewarns his people before he acts .


then we can be in a good place SPRITUALLY SPEAKING .



seek seek and seek ZEPHENIAH 2;2-4
seek JEHOVAH seek righteousness, and seek meekness


and get out of FALSE RELIGION REV 18;4:)thats the way to do it




 
Speculation on the meaning of symbol, detached from a knowledge of the time and context of the text, the Sitz im Leben as the scholars say, is always a dangerous thing. Without that, there really is no limit to one's speculations.

I could, for example, make the case for any empire you like ... the good old English Empire (pre-War, of course) ... then Communism ... then, if you think about it, the United States, with retail outlets and military installations in almost every country in the world, puts all other empires in the shade ... then, of course, secularism, consumerism, materialism, corporationism ... these are, after all, the major religions of the 2nd and 3rd millennium, these are the currents that make and break nations.

That is the end of the world as we know it, right? 98 years from 1914. Less than one generation. Less than three years and counting.

For some this is serious. For me, nope. Each day is serious. What about you?

even though we know from the bible that we have been living in the last days since 1914 , no one knows the day or hour

The Bible does not tell us the exact date when Jesus Christ will come as Jehovah’s Executioner against Satan’s system of things

"Concerning that day or the hour nobody knows, neither the angels in heaven nor the Son, but the Father," said Jesus. (Mark 13:32)


now is the especially aceptable time , now is the time to be with God people , and here they are spoken of in revelation 7;9-10 and they are from ALL NATIONS

and if we read on to verse 14, it is these ones who will
GET THROUGH THE GREAT TRIBULATION


Babylon the great being destroyed is the START OF THE GREAT TRIBULATION.


are we with the GREAT CROWD spoken of in REVELATION 7;9-10


or are we a part of babylon the great still .

For us to have Jehovah’s favor, it is vital that both in our actions and in the desires of our heart, we give evidence that we truly are no part of Babylon the Great.


There is no time for delay. Alerting us that the end will come suddenly, the Bible says:


"With a swift pitch will Babylon the great city be hurled down, and she will never be found again."—Revelation 18:21.
