What NON-POLITICAL, NON-RELIGIOUS Headlines Are You Following?

This Waffle House employee should not have been the only paid employee at his place of work: https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/waf...s-it-was-incredible-to-witness-181924410.html

One person doing everything at a restaurant, especially one like The Waffle House is ridiculous! (I know what I'm talking about because I worked behind-the-scenes at a rather upscale restaurant myself, albeit unpaid.)

The young man's coworkers ought to be called in for a staff meeting and thoroughly chewed out by their higher ups, even if they have to come from either District or Corporate.

Odds are he is gonna get some kudos from the head office, and his manager will hear about this as well.

Awesome that despite no one being scheduled he gave it a go as cook, waiter and cashier! Equally as incredible the folks who stepped up, washing dishes, wiping counters, and pouring coffee while the employee continued!

The show must go on attitude is wonderful, definitely not the ideal situation, but folks working together to make the best of a bad situation, that is respectable.

Really?

Fog and ice and you wish to call them idiots?

I can't even.

They were going too fast for conditions. Drivers should leave enough space so that they can safely stop (ditto speed for the same reason.)

That was the second rule that my dad taught everyone in the house (the first one was to use the seat belt if it works properly*.)

* - Abiding by the first rule has saved my life at least twice that I can remember, probably more often

Yay?

I'd prefer to err on the side of compassion rather than call dozens if people who encountered terrible conditions all idiots.

I am almost positive you would as well, in that wreck there are now mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and maybe even fourleggeds in dire straights...at a minimum they have monetary problems this holiday season...

Obviously not all are at fault, should it have been one if us we'd be reading it in the daily rant section...

Surely it was a moment of superiority you really don't wish to defend. From this group the victims/participants and their kin at least deserve to get our thoughts and prayers.

Note: I ask the same thing of others here. If you see me fall off what you perceive as my path or the lane we strive to keep io in, feel free to give me a shove.

I'm following two headlines right now (one that is rather tragic about the Australian bushfires, the other kinda started from a more preventable tragedy):

With the second, LucasFilms has honored the university student who sacrificed himself to save more students from an active gunman by naming a Jedi Master after him (making it canon.)

Seems last time it was mentioned aussie sort of popped in and said it happens every so many years. Sort of reminded me what Palestinians told me about the state over there. And how our news is more Sensationalist than reality sometimes.

Wasn't making light of it. Pretty bad actually. Red sky to the north and west all year.

Just been especially dry. We have three 30,000 liter underground cisterns and all 3 are scraping bottom. No end in sight. Supposed to top out at around 44C by week's end with little to no perceptional expected! Just something with deal with down here. That and the inevitable flooding once this is over and done. Price for living in the land of Oz. -;)

I'm kinda following the helicopter crash that killed Kobe Bryant and his eldest daughter along with everyone else on the copter. :(
