    I've become an Evangelical Universalist

Hi Dream, I haven't followed Ahanu's John the Baptist thread, so maybe I need to check it out. But: I have read some of the Dead_Sea_scroll writings from the translation by Martinez and Tigchelaar and Nag_Hammadi_library from James M. Robinson and don't see too much of current Christianity...

    I've become an Evangelical Universalist

Hi, The quick outline on the Seven_Laws_of_Noah I seem to remember there was also a discussion of these ideas somewhere in acts. Possibly a minimum requirement for gentiles to be part of a new group of Jewish believers. Joe

    Interfaith as a Faith

Hi Dream, For the sake of keeping this here, then interfaith of religions is a key idea. But in the interest of all folks getting it together, I don't see the point of one group (nonsecular) claiming some kind of win over another group (secular). Looking to move forward in some way, trying...

    What does God want?

While I can't be truly positive about what G-d wants, Lennon might have been onto something with his song "Imagine".

    Believers--who are they?

Hi Abdullah, thank you for your detailed response. .......So for the moment, lets say that I've looked out over my garden wall and noticed there are quite a few religions out there. About a handful. I've heard your response from these others also, very similar, some of the words used are of...

    Believers--who are they?

This seems to come strictly from the imagination of men. How can you or I be truly sure that G-d posits that Islam and only Islam is the valid religion?

    Education in America

I suspect government sets the bar for public education. They teach the children what they need to know to be "good" citizens. It's a basic understanding of the world around us, and a little about how to get along on life. This is about as far as the high school education will get. The...

    Education in America

Hi, Lately I've been thinking along these same lines. But maybe it has to do with something else: age. So coberst, are you coming to these conclusions as someone "long" in years or is this really the way it is? Joe

Is religion a force for good?

Hi, Can you distill the actual thing "religion" from it's followers? Although fire and religion are both things, fire is plainly seen and felt, religion is somewhat harder to perceive. A thing like fire can exist outside of human interaction. Without people religion does not exist. People are...

The Only Love – Gita-Bible Comparision

Is this happening in the present day? Hmm, I thought that G-d was formless. Not to sure there would be a future generation if this were the way. AS history shows us, the Pope and fathers were not always doing the right thing. Don't know about the Acharya. Joe

    What do you drink?

I drink mostly smoothies and juice. This BrendanBrazier.com Thrive is pretty good. Some of his others are better though. The book that you see is mostly raw foods or very lightly cooked. I didn't care for that much for the recipes.

    Why stay a Christian?

Just maybe G-d in not contained in a book. I doubt very much if there will be any complaints if you were to seek G-d outside the wording of the Bible. It seems all the major faiths of the world have their book, perhaps these books are but directions to a place but not the place. Thanks Shawn.

    eyewitness accounts

Thanks SG for the links. I have a copy of "The unknown life of Jesus Christ" By Notovitch. It was an interesting read, but somewhat like the "Book of Mormons", I found not enough supporting evidence for it to slide easily into the believable part of my brain. Joe

    eyewitness accounts

Hi Alex/17th In "Judaism", Postmaster asked if there was a record of Jesus anywhere in the Talmud, which there isn't. Elsewhere a question was asked, that in Egyptian history if there is an account of a foreign people residing in their land for a period of time, again the answer was no...
